Many years ago, a younger version of myself sat captivated before a computer screen looking for locations to photograph. A European village that seemed to have leapt straight out of a fairy tale grabbed my attention . For years, the pull of that vision lingered. I vowed to one day travel to that dreamlike place, even though it felt completely unreachable at the time.

So many emotions surged through me when I finally stood at the edge of this village. The years of waiting, the expenses, the solo journey - everything led to this moment. With every step towards the canals, my dream of being in this location, that didn’t seem real; finally came alive. The small cottages, with wooden plaques on the gates with the names of the owners dogs, added to the small village charm. It was truly a surreal ambiance, almost as if time seized to exist, as the world around carried on.

The sky was a perfect shade of blue with puffy white clouds. I set up my camera and filters, meticulously choosing a time where the sun didn't cast golden hues or vibrant shades, but rather a tranquil clarity. It was nearing noon, and the scene was enchanting. My heart raced as a red boat slowly made its way under a canal. At the front, a dog, joyfully soaking in the moment.

My approach to photography has always been to depict the world in its vivid, mesmerizing glory, using in-camera techniques, with minimal post-processing. This image, saturated in colors and with elements that are almost dream-like, is a testament to that philosophy.

I wish for viewers to question the reality of this image. To wonder if such a paradise exists or if it's a creation of AI. Yet, behind this photo lies the magic of that day, the unparalleled freedom and fulfillment of a dream long-cherished, is encapsulated in this photograph. Through this image, I hope to convey a simple, yet profound message: "Life occasionally offers us moments of complete bliss. Embrace them, cherish them, for we never know how long they will last."

As I packed up my camera and equipment, the sounds of the town resonated in the still air, the chirping of birds, the gentle splash of water against the boats, and the distant barking of playful dogs. Every step I took away from that surreal location weighed heavy, not with regret, but with deep appreciation and gratitude. The culmination of years of dreaming, searching, and finally experiencing this ethereal place left an indelible mark on my soul. I left feeling full.
