Getting this shot took some effort. I had to negotiate my way to a higher vantage point, which wasn't easy but definitely worth it. From this elevated perspective, I had an unobstructed view of the heart of Amsterdam, a scene that felt both grand and intimate. The anticipation built from securing this spot made capturing the final image even more rewarding.

I timed the shot for sunset, a magical hour when the city transitions from the hustle of the day to the calm of the evening. The sky was painted in soft hues of purple and pink, perfectly complementing the warm lights beginning to glow in the buildings below. I wanted to capture this unique interplay of natural and artificial light, which creates a special ambiance that is both tranquil and vibrant. Sunset in Amsterdam has always held a special charm for me, blending the historical architecture with the soft evening glow.

To capture the liveliness of the city, I decided on a one-minute long exposure. This technique allowed me to showcase the dynamic energy of the area.
