However, choosing to undertake this expedition in winter’s embrace afforded me solitude, a rare silence that pervaded the vast landscapes.

The frigid temperatures and harsh conditions seemed a small price to pay for the exclusive audience with nature’s marvels. Enclosed by nothing but darkness and the rhythmic patterns of the arch, the sense of isolation was profound.
