This view perfectly captures the vibrancy and charm of Lisbon’s iconic rooftops. As I stood at this vantage point, it was the kaleidoscope of colors that immediately drew me in. The terracotta roofs, distinctive to the city, stretch out in every direction, interspersed with pops of greens, blues, yellows, and reds. It’s as if the entire city is painted in a palette of warmth and life, each building contributing its own unique hue to the overall tapestry. I’ve always admired how Lisbon blends the old and new, and this scene is a perfect example of that.

What struck me most as I composed this shot was the way the city’s architecture unfolds like a living puzzle. The mix of traditional Portuguese houses with modern apartment buildings tells a story of a city that has evolved over centuries but never lost its essence. There’s a balance here that feels effortless—history and progress layered together, side by side. As I set up my camera, I was particularly drawn to the textures and patterns created by the rooftops.
