Before capturing this striking image, I spent a significant part of my day engrossed in a simple yet profound act of giving back to the island - cleaning up garbage nestled between the rocks along the shore. A chance encounter with an elderly Hawaiian lady had left me with wisdom that reshaped my approach towards the landscapes I aimed to capture. She shared with me the perspective of the island as a living organism, one that reciprocates what it receives.

Guided by this newfound understanding, I embarked on a practice of carrying a trash bag during my explorations, ensuring that I left each place better than I found it, contributing positively to the island’s well-being.

The result was a transformation in the experiences the island offered me. The sunsets unveiled their majestic beauty, filling the skies with breathtaking colors and the horizons with captivating light displays. This image is a testament to that transformation.
