EARTH’S VORTEX

I began this process about five years ago... The day began with hiking into a forest. I was searching for an elusive waterfall that locals told me existed if I just followed the sounds. About a mile in I started to hear water crashing, and I knew I was getting close. It started to rain, but I decided to pursue the sound of the falls further. When I arrived, it was breathtaking. I knew I had found something unique. I set up my equipment and, ignoring the rain, began snapping photos. By the time I was done I knew I had captured my piece. I spent a couple years going back and shooting this location, but nothing compared to those first shots. I know many may wonder “Why spend so much time searching for a waterfall, only to snap a photo?”. I’m not entirely sure myself at times, but the best explanation I can offer is: this is what I love to do.
